Henry Jenkins and Steven Johnson Tabbed for Opening Remarks
We are pleased to announce that Henry Jenkins and Steven Johnson will deliver the Opening Remarks for the 2008 SXSW Interactive Festival on Saturday, March 8.
The Co-Director of the Comparative Media Studies Program at MIT, Jenkins has also authored numerous books including "Convergence Culture: Where Old and New Media Collide" and "Fans, Bloggers and Gamers: Exploring Participatory Culture." His engaging conversation with danah boyd at the 2007 SXSW Interactive Festival drew rave reviews from attendees -- this talk ranked as last year's most popular session.
Steven Johnson is the author of "Emergence: The Connected Lives of Ants, Brains, Cities and Software," “Everything Bad Is Good for You”, "Interface Culture," “Mind Wide Open," and numerous other popular books about emerging technology. He recently started the web company outside.in, which he describes as "an attempt to collectively build the geographic Web, neighborhood by neighborhood"
